about us
Although the Orchard has long been established in Stillorgan as a quality bar and restaurant, the recent completion of phase two of the internal refurbishment programme has totally transformed the place into a superbly modern continental cafébar and restaurant.
It is a revelation to discover the chic modernity, the space, facilities and ambience that lie within the thatched building.
When entering from the main entrance in Hill Street, the smaller Bar on the left retains the original traditional features of the building, while sympathetically incorporating subtle modern features and furniture for a funky, stylish look. The ceilings and walls are whitewashed and the floors laid parquet style in warm wood. The décor is contemporary in design with earthy natural browns, lifted with scattered reds and blues and the long bar against the back wall is built in slatted wood with a top quality curved granite top. The bar gantry incorporates the original stone arches offering a large display of drinks and a coffee station. The furniture in this bar is a mixture of brown leather bucket seats, with high cranberry and black stools and poufs along the bar and in the upper seating areas.
The natural light floods in through the bar’s windows through the day to create a bright continental cafébar ambience for the day time people. At night the subtle lighting creates a superbly chic and lively continental cafébar and restaurant.
Moving through the modern glass entrance hall that connects the two bars, we come to the most recently renovated larger cafébar. Against the bright café ambience of the smaller bar, this one is more sultry and romantic with a colour scheme of dark brown wood, off-set with rich reds and creams. The bar is again a modern, spacious linear creation with the long bar on the left hand side and a central row of oval tables that are flanked by a series of five separate sections. The dining area towards the rear has a large raised seating area overlooking the attractive garden patio and extensive car park. |
